UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – American University of Sharjah as of Dec. 23 will require all campus residents and visitors to obtain an activated Al Hosn app showing green status, signifying a recent negative PCR test.
Ministry of Education guidelines require anyone above the age of 12 to provide a negative PCR test received within 96 hours of their first entry on campus.
A recent email from AUS’s Health Services department stated that it is an individual’s responsibility to maintain the green status on Al Hosn app by being fully vaccinated and taking a PCR test every month. Exemption requests should be submitted via the Al Hosn app.
The email noted that everyone on campus should follow prevention protocols by maintaining a safe distance and wearing a face mask at all times; frequently washing their hands; and covering their mouth while sneezing or coughing.
