UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – Six new clubs participated in the American University of Sharjah’s Club Fair, an event where student-run organizations attract new members through various activities, at the Student Center on Feb. 13-14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
- The list of new organizations is as follows:
- The CAAD Student Collective Club.
- Engineering in Medicine and Biology.
- Japanese Cultural Club.
- Economics Club, also known as Wellbeing Economics.
- Interactive Games Club.
- Pi Tau Sigma.
According to Economics Club President Amaan Siddiqui, preparing for the event was stressful since they had to manage multiple tasks in the span of two weeks.
Siddiqui explained what they had to set up included creating an Instagram account, finding convenient meeting times for everyone, and figuring out their academic vision and mission.
Japanese Cultural Club President Ranim Jarrar said the hardest task for the organization was picking a treasurer and activities coordinator.
Jarrar explained the board members were strict on finding people who cared about representing the Japanese culture accurately.
She added other difficulties they faced were managing the shifts between each other and worrying the decorations would not arrive in time. Jarrar said everything turned out fine in the end.
