UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – In collaboration with the Psychology Club and American University of Sharjah’s Wellness office, Visiting Assistant Professor Dr. Khym Isaac De Barros of the Psychology program and the Anxiety Awareness Research Team are hosting an anxiety awareness event on Wednesday in the Student Center.

According to organizers, there will be a multitude of stress-reducing activities that students can partake in, such as yoga-like meditation, muscle relaxation, painting tote bags, making bracelets, and art on canvas.

Throughout the event, the Anxiety Awareness Research Team will exhibit poster presentations on mental health-related topics, like improved anxiety awareness, athletic and academic performance, anxiety and relationships, and stress.

Mozna Azaki, a student majoring in psychology, said “At my previous university, there were no events focusing on mental well-being, so I can’t wait to attend.”

For those interested in attending, the event will run from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
