UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – Password verification is one of the many issues that American University of Sharjah’s new students face according to a student worker at the Information Technology department.
Visual Communication junior students Hala Orabi said many would benefit from their collaboration with the IT department, which will equip them with knowledge to tackle technical issues independently.
IT also offers guidance to new students based on their majors, ensuring they make informed technology choices.
Regarding security, AUS devices utilize Windows Defender antivirus protection. A dedicated security team manages security concerns and ensures the safety of user accounts. Password resets involve identity verification as a security measure.
Common technical complaints include banner access, Wi-Fi connectivity, lockdown browser downloads for placement tests and password resets.
The IT department also provides backup options and storage access.
For assistance with technical issues, hotlines and WhatsApp groups are available through collaboration with the IT team. Students can find troubleshooting resources and specific laptop specifications for their majors at [email protected].
