UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – Two students at the American University of Sharjah said in an interview on Oct. 21 that the university experience on campus is better than online.
Hassan Khurram, a junior at AUS said, “I personally enjoy university a lot more now that we are back at campus, it has allowed me to make new friends and experience the campus.”
According to Hessa Almulaifi, a senior Biology student at AUS, even though online studying was useful in terms of time management, being on campus is more joyful.
Online studies can be uninteresting at times, as students cannot properly interact with professors and classmates.
Khurram’s favorite part of being on campus is attending events and activities with friends, as it was not an option during the COVID-19 pandemic.
While Almulaifi started her first year of university on campus, then moved to online learning, Khurram started online, which affected his grades.
“I feel like my grades are better now as university has gone back to normal. I can finally interact with my friends and professors in classes which has allowed me to focus,” said Khurram.
