UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – The International Studies department of the American University of Sharjah on Wednesday hosted three distinguished alumni to advise and speak to current INS students.
Speaking to about 30 INS students and faculty in the Humanities and Sciences Building’s lecture hall, Omar Almutawa, Najla Alzarooni and Katia Kanakri spoke about their journeys from INS until the present. They discussed the transition from university into the workforce.
Following the speeches, they took part in the INSA Senior Gala iftar, celebrating the graduating seniors.
Jeffrey King, an assistant professor of political science at AUS, said “this event provided our students an opportunity to hear the stories of our alumni. We believe that events like this will create closer connections between our current and former students.”
