UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – The Office of Student Affairs at the American University of Sharjah hosted a charity book sale supporting AUS’ “Hand in Hand” project.
The event, which was from Aug. 28 to Sept. 5 in the Main Building Rotunda, was in collaboration with the Office of Community Service and Outreach.
Textbooks were on sale for AED 20 and novels for AED 10. Some students donated used books to support the initiative, as well.
Volunteers from various majors assisted with the event, working shifts from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
All proceeds went towards supporting AUS’s “Hand in Hand” project, which was established in 2014.
In an article published on the AUS website, AUS alumna Duaa Zahi said, “Hand in Hand is a unique community service project because we actively participate in the work.”
The “Hand in Hand” project continues to accept students as volunteers.
