UNIVERSITY CITY – The American University of Sharjah announced the updated working hours for the month of Ramadan, Eid Al Fitr and the summer semester in an email on Sunday.

In the email, Human Resources stated that the holy month is expected to begin on April 23 or 24 and end on May 23.

According to the email, departments can provide two working-hour options, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. during Ramadan.

Summer working hours will be in effect starting June 28 to Aug. 6, Human Resources wrote.

“Employees may request a two-hour reduced schedule each day during this period,” they added.

Departments should ensure office coverage between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the summer period, according to the email.

The university will be closed for Eid Al Fitr from May 24-28, and will resume working on May 31, Human Resources stated.
