Nintendo has released the last major update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Version 2.0 on Nov. 5. This includes the return of special characters like Brewster and Kapp’n. After the game released on March 20, 2020, the first major update was on April 23. This added in-game merchants Leif and Redd, giving way for a museum expansion. Nintendo then introduced diving for deep sea creatures in the Summer Update (Wave 1), and the Fireworks Festival in the Summer Update (Wave 2). Jack, the host of the Halloween event, was featured in the Fall Update, whereas the Winter Update added Thanksgiving turkey Franklin and reindeer Jingle to the game. The Jan. 28 update introduced Festivale, a spring carnival event returning from past Animal Crossing titles.
