UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – As a precautionary measure, due to expected heavy rainfall, the American University of Sharjah informed students Wednesday that Thursday classes would be held remotely and that most campus facilities would be closed.

The message to faculty, staff, students, and residents said that besides classes going online, AUS would close all buildings except for the health clinic and Sharjah Islamic Co-Op.

Some food outlets were expected to remain open depending on the weather, and bus services to Abu Dhabi were not affected.

The email included contacts for general, medical, safety, and maintenance emergencies and concerns.
