UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – The American University of Sharjah’s Writing Center will open Jan. 26 to offer support to students working on essays and other written projects, its director announced in a Tuesday email to faculty.
Assistant Prof. of English Maria Eleftheriou, who has overseen the center since its inception in 2004, noted that individual face-to-face help from trained peer tutors will be available weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with online assistance available on weekends.
The Writing Center, located in LIB 024, offers personalized help with subjects such as organization and grammar and a range of other resources.
Eleftheriou noted that the center will also offer writing-related workshops throughout the semester.
