UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – The Health Services and Wellness department at the American University of Sharjah will host a cancer awareness and prevention event for staff and faculty on Feb. 4, coinciding with World Cancer Day.
According to organizers, the event will run from 5:20-6 p.m. at Basketball Court B. It is a 40-minute session aiming to address rising health concerns through three main approaches: physical movement, clinical education, and community advocacy.
The event includes a 15-minute movement session, a 15-minute cancer prevention and health check, and a discussion of the Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP) program, a Sharjah-based organization founded by Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher to provide financial support to cancer patients and their families.
