UNIVERSITY CITY – The American University of Sharjah’s Office of Student Affairs announced April 6 it will grant awards to recognize undergraduates for their contribution in sports and extracurricular activities.

Vice Provost for Student Life Lisa Moscaritolo in an email wrote that the awards will acknowledge the efforts, commitment, and hard work of individuals who “positively” contribute to the enhancement of life on campus.

The email said nominations would include students who are proactive in clubs, organizations, sports, residential life, community service, and the leadership program.

Moscaritolo added that the Athletics and Recreation department would recognize skilled players through celebrating the “Most Outstanding Female and Male Athlete, Most Inspirational Athlete, and Most Improved Player.”

OSA will also be acknowledging clubs and organizations for their dedication to creating a vibrant campus community through the “Team of the Year Award,” Moscaritolo said.

The email encourages students to nominate those who have demonstrated individual commitment to university life and through active involvement in sports.

The deadline to submit nominations is April 19.
