UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH –– The American University of Sharjah women’s volleyball team will be participating in six matches during a tournament starting Oct. 16.
The AUS women’s volleyball team will play against five different teams at the event, hosted by Rochester Institute of Technology in Dubai. There are 18 AUS players, including nine returning students, participating on the team.
Souzan Saleh, the team’s coach, said her team has been training consistently since the beginning of the semester by playing friendly games with teams from other local universities.
She called volleyball a lifestyle, not just a sport, as it teaches players many lessons they use in their lives.
