UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH– Over 5,000 students, faculty, and off-campus guests, attended the annual Global Day event hosted by the American University of Sharjah on March 1-2 from 5-10 p.m.

The event consists of culturally themed stalls organized by student-run clubs, which offered fun activities, traditional food and clothing.

A total of 31 clubs participated in this year’s Global Day, one of which (Kuwaiti) was reactivated.

The first day of the event saw Arab clubs offer 11 performances, like cultural dances and fashion shows, in the Main Auditorium and Main Plaza. Seven clubs performed South Asian themed songs and dances on March 2.

According to Pakistani Cultural Club member Zaynab Ghani, “Every club perfected their stall’s themes this year and I think this year’s Global Day performances were better than ever.” The indoor performance tickets were sold at the Student Center for AED 30.
