UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – American University of Sharjah faculty and staff members participated in the Get Active for Education #25for25 Initiative, Walkathon, sponsored by Crescent Petroleum and Emaar on Wednesday, April 20.

The Walkathon began at 9 p.m. from the Sports Pavilion building where around 60 faculty and staff members took part in walking a total distance of 3km.

Comfortable or activewear attire was advised for apparel with appropriate shoes for walking.

Students also participated in this event, as they were stationed throughout the route to help coordinate the Walkathon.

“Everyone was happy, the event was really helpful and motivating for people to walk together,” said AUS student Nadine Wehbe. “I had so much fun being a part of this.”

Participants were welcome to attend the final matches of the 7×7 football tournament taking place at the Sports Pavilion after the Walkathon ended.

A water station was provided throughout the route, and fruit snacks were provided at the end of the Walkathon.
